About Us

7th August, 2008

Struggling to lose all the weight that has piled up during pregnancy and the lactation period is the bane of most new mothers.  Whilst juggling between managing the newborn, housework, cooking, at times an older child and even a career, dedicated time for oneself comes last in the priority list.

To seriously lose weight and improve fitness levels, dedicated time and effort is a must, which of course is a rare event for a new mother.  For those of us who have kinda managed to cross the bridge over the initial few tough months, and have managed to restore some sanity into our lives, and now want to put in effort to work out and lose weight, let’s WORK IT OUT, LIVE IT UP.  Guess, all of us have had enough of wearing shapeless, oversized clothes so let’s now think of getting back in shape and into our pre-pregnancy wardrobe once again!

This blog is an attempt to keep track of track of our diet and our special efforts in burning up calories.  Unless the there is a combination of a healthy diet and exercise, losing weight would be just a pipe dream.  Let’s share health food recipes that will keep the “diet” part interesting and also how we can add variety to lose those calories that we have consumed during the day. Some popular forms of exercises are:

Gymming
Pilates
Yoga
Kickboxing
Power Yoga
Aerobics
Walking
Jogging
Swimming

To start with, there are just two of us. We welcome our friends and acquaintances.

Sindhu: I have started with Kickboxing a few days back. Its a combination of Pilates and Aerobics which makes it a more intense workout than just plain Pilates.

Batul: I started doing Yoga two weeks back. I have also started walking regularly.

Hi Batul and Sindhu,

I have an active 18 month old and am about 20 pounds over my pre pregnancy weight. I had gestational diabetes during my pregnancy and didnt even put on a ton of weight while I was pregnant. It was only after I delivered; that the freedom from months of diabetic diets and my Mom being present to cook delicious food for me coupled with the sleep deprivation and fatigue from having to manage a toddler pretty much by myself later on as my husband travelled a lot plus holding down a job resulted in packing on the pounds. I have started on an exercise routine just from this week and would love to have your company in making sure I stick to and reach my exercise goals.

Thanks,
Sonia

Hi Batul and Sindhu,

My problem has been to get regular company to workout with. I do not like indoor exercises much except for Yoga. I would love to find some company to go for regular workout.

Thanks,
Latha

Hi Batul and Sindhu,
I have a big goal to shred some weight and inches. Thinking about ME has become a last priority. But I am determined now to work towards my goal. The only time I get for myself is before 7 am everyday (seriously). And I get so tired all day (with sleepless nights) I just cant get up from bed that early. And then at 7:30, I rush off to work. I need some inspiration (kicking out from bed) to go to gym. So where do I start from?

Hey,
I loved this concept. I have a 2 yr old son and though I managed to get to my pre pregnancy weight in about an year and half but past 6 months due to hectic work schedule it seems all hard work has gone in vain and I have again started putting on the extra kgs!!

I sure want to be part of this!
